A crime against our community: do you know who is responsible?

Alert message sent 12/10/2018 15:28:00

Information sent on behalf of Notts Police

Nottinghamshire Police are investigating a report of criminal damage to a Nottingham City Council vehicle, which was damaged while parked outside Haydn Primary School, in Haydn Road, Sherwood, at around 9.35am yesterday.

The vehicle was damaged while council staff were busy conducting safety patrols in the area, targeting vehicles which had been inconsiderately parked.

This is a case of mindless vandalism against a council-owned vehicle which was in the area to help ensure the safety of pupils of the nearby primary school, their families and the wider community during what is obviously a very busy time of the day.

We see this as a crime against the community, as it is they – the very people the vehicle and council staff are there to protect – who will inevitably have to pay to repair the damage, which is likely to run into hundreds of pounds.

We are urging anyone with any information about who’s responsible for this crime to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101 to report this, quoting incident number 239 of 11 October when they call.
